Flame Resistant Fabrics Introduction -

“Flame Resistance ” – What Does it Mean?

Some show promoters (and local fire marshals) insist that fabric used in your display be “flame-resistant”. In some places, local or state fire marshals are on site to verify your compliance with fire codes by asking you to produce an official certificate or by field-testing (actually putting a flame to a piece of your display).

Most venues accept the broad test definition of the National Fire Prevention Association. Their standard for drapery is NFPA 701. All of our fabrics meet this standard. In addition, many of our fabrics have been tested in places with stricter codes (the cities of Boston and New York and the state of California, for example).

An official “Certificate of Flame-Resistance” accompanies each Flourish Company order and a Flame-resistance label is sewn into each item we make. This is sufficient to satisfy authorities in most locales. To make sure that you can prove that the drapery in your display will pass inspection, we include a swatch of the fabric so that fire marshals may cut a sample for field-testing if necessary.

All Flourish Company fabrics are PERMANENTLY flame-resistant, which means that machine washing and drying will not compromise the fabric’s flame-resistant qualities.

Samples, Samples, Samples -

The best way to determine if a color or fabric style is right for your sales space is to see the actual cloth, hold it next to your display and feel the texture. Custom sampling by mail is FREE. Call us and describe your display needs and the colors and types of fabrics you envision. We will select a set of samples that meet your criteria and send them to you for your approval.

To Sew or not To Sew -

Our expert needle-workers are ready to turn your ideas into beautiful curtains, table and pedestal covers, display panel covers or counter skirts. We also offer fabric by-the-yard if you wish to do your own sewing. Prices vary from $11.75 to $15.00 per lineal yard for cut yardage, and our labor rates for custom finished products are extremely competitive. Note: Custom orders on cloth can be more expensive.

How we do it -

To allow for quick service, we keep a wide variety of display panel covers in stock and our turnaround on Curtain Panels is from 7 to 10 days (unless a custom ordered fabric is involved).

We also keep our most popular fabric choices in stock so we can quickly fill custom orders and by-the-yard orders. In-stock colors include white, off-white, gray, black, navy, burgundy and forest green. Many other color choices are available on special order basis.

If a fabric is in stock, we can usually have your job completed within a week, and many times within a day or two. If we have to order the fabric, you can expect a two to three week turnaround. Of course we can, at your request, use express UPS services to move the process along at a quicker rate. Be aware though that express shipping will result in additional charges.

Fabric purchases are non-refundable and Flourish Company’s money back guarantee does not apply to flame-resistant fabric products. As always however, we will stand behind our workmanship and constantly strive to provide excellent service and timely response to your needs.
